The meeting point is at the Intermarché parking lot in Avèze, Le Vigan, where you can do some last-minute shopping for your picnic. An additional 15-minute drive will take you to the starting point of the activity.
Gear up in the cars. You’ll each be equipped with a neoprene wetsuit, a harness with a descender, a protective helmet and a waterproof bag and canister for 2-3 people.
Before reaching the wonderful area of the Orgon Waterfalls Canyon, a 40-minute approach walk takes place in the shade of the forest. The water is cool and crystal clear. It is a granite canyon known as “horse-tooth granite” because of the presence of feldspar. The Orgon Waterfalls is an intermediate-level canyon open to ages 12 and up.
During this descent, you will learn autonomy in rappelling (the start begins with a first 15m rappel!). You will be introduced to several jump heights (not mandatory). You will also have the chance to try the famous ejectable slide located halfway through. It is done in a slide position, ending with you being ejected into a large, deep pool of water. Thrills guaranteed!
The ideal season to experience this magnificent canyon is in the spring, from late April to early July.

Description
The start is in a suspended pool, flowing into the first rappel of the canyon. After a safety briefing explaining the various technical difficulties of the outing, you can have fun with a 4m jump. We then get into the heart of the matter with the first 12m rappel. This is followed by river trekking and another splendid 15m rappel. After a short walk, we reach the highlight of the show: the famous ejectable slide that propels us 4m high into a large, deep pool. Then comes the picnic break to regain your strength.
The journey through this magical world resumes with some river trekking before reaching a superb jump of 6, 7, or 8m for the more adventurous. This technical jump, which is not mandatory, requires precision. The canyon ends peacefully with a more accessible jump, as well as a wet rappel accompanied by a little surprise!
