Le Ravin des Arcs
Come and discover the ephemeral canyon of the Ravin des Arcs at the start of the season. Located 40 minutes from Montpellier and near Saint-Martin-de-Londres, it is a true haven of peace. Ideal for friends, families, or groups.
The Ravin des Arcs: an ephemeral magic!
Le Ravin des Arcs is a Natura 2000 protected site. Many locals have likely enjoyed this family hike, which transports you to another world. We invite you to immerse yourself even further in this dreamlike setting with a canyoning descent down to the geological formation that forms the arch. Immersed in the water, you can admire how it has sculpted the Jurassic limestone and the natural reliefs shaped by time.
This canyon is only accessible at the beginning of the season, until mid-June, or even early July if the rainy season has been good. The water that flows through the canyon is called the Lamalou. It rises in the commune of Rouet and is fed exclusively by underground springs, which quickly fill it up during prolonged rains. Unfortunately, as the springs and resurgences diminish in volume, the canyon becomes emptier.
